Alan MacKenzie is co-founding Partner of Street Smart Ventures LLC, a business that provides consulting and management services creating entrepreneurial business and structured work experience programs for community agencies serving urban youth and adults. Programs integrate hands-on work and experiential learning using local entrepreneurs, mentors, trainers and role models to build on-site support to help participants succeed in-school, at-work and within their community.

From 1996 to 2003, Alan was Director, founder and creator of Our Piece of the Pie (OPP), a Youth Business Incubator that provides foster care, juvenile justice and other at-risk youth ages 10 to 21 years with hands-on experiences in work and entrepreneurship. OPP was developed to meet the needs of youth and the community by linking entrepreneurs, youth development trainers, youth and adult role models and professionals from local agencies and businesses in year around experiential learning projects that create products and services needed within the community.

Alan has 25 years of business experience in finance, marketing and operations with large corporations (Chevron Oil, General Foods, United Technologies). During the past 18 years he has operated his own business, mentored youth and adults, taught at local colleges and consulted with small businesses.
